The Born Newsletter

Hello 4th Grade Families,

We welcomed “Bruce” today to our class.  He is visiting from China and will spend his winter break, the next 4 weeks, with us to be immersed in American education and gain exposure to conversational English.  Our students were warm and friendly.  Isn’t that wonderful?

This Thursday, January 16, we will walk to the Huntington Retirement Home on Earl Street.  We were originally attempting to visit before the holidays, but the calendars didn’t work out for us and or them before Christmas, so this week we will deliver “Happy New Year’s” gifts to the seniors and sing some hymns and patriotic songs for them while they enjoy lunch in the dining room.  This is a dual blessing, for the seniors, and also for our students as they interact with the senior residents there at the Huntington.

Congratulations to London, who accomplished her reading goal of reading 1000 books in one year.  Check out her story at londonsreadathon.org  Way to go, London!

Please refresh the supply list for 4th grade to make sure your child has the necessary tools and gear for success. Students need to have recorders, books, and reading logs at school and at home for class time as well as homework practice. Please make sure earbuds or headphones are at school everyday as well as a healthy and nutritious snack and a reusable water bottle. THANKS so very much.

Check out the Seabreeze, our online school newsletter that is published weekly on Tuesdays.  The full school calendar can be found there.
